Are you at the fitness fork in the road of exercising at home or the gym? Don't make this decision hastily. The wrong choice could leave you stuck in a fitness rut.

Before you decide between exercising at home or the gym; have you determined you fitness goals? This is key in making the right decision. Are you looking to pump some iron or simply to shed some pounds via cardio? Defining your goals will aid you in choosing the proper location in which to reach your said goals.

After you've determined your fitness goals you can begin to realize the ways in which either the home or gym can best help you reach your goal. The home is the choice of many simply because of the savings but, before you get your sweats out keep in mind that there are some costs linked to exercising at home.

In order to achieve minimal results in most cases you'll need to purchase the proper equipment. Depending on you fitness goals this equipment can range from a basic weight set to a treadmill or elliptical or both.

The home is okay for basic exercise routines but, for those who seek a more intense routine the gym is the better choice. A gym can be costly due to membership fees, but many have found that paying a membership fee keeps them going to the gym.

The gym is built for all types of exercise routines utilizing all of the latest fitness equipment. Gyms also offer many additional benefits such as, pools, spas, numerous classes, personal training, basketball courts and racquetball courts.

Be sure to evaluate what motivates you. Motivation plays a major role in sticking to your routine. Making the wrong decision when it comes to exercising at home or the gym can kill your routine. Who hasn't decided to exercise at home and instead end up in the kitchen raiding the fridge.

On the flip side there are others who join a gym, but after the initial excitement wears off they quit going after a couple of weeks. No one knows you better than yourself, so be honest with yourself. You know what drives you. If you've tried to workout at home and always end up on the couch watching T.V.; join the gym.

If instead of going to the gym you find yourself too busy with other things or just can't get up in the morning; exercise at home.

You may find that exercising at home allows you to do so at your convenience.

Whether you choose to exercise at home or the gym; just exercise. You'll be happy as you see the efforts of your hard work pay off. Get started today will you?
